Once an Army wife, always an Army wife!

I miss seeing you around, Stacey.

My dad, his brothers, my grandfathers are retired Army. Both of my brothers are currently in the Army. I understand the outsider feeling, even though I was just an Army brat. My husband is trying to join right now at the elderly age of 35 :). I have to say, part of my hope in him getting in is that I'll be part of that Army family again. BUT, I will also say that once you are a part of it, you'll always be a part of it, and nobody can ever take that away. You should be proud, as I can tell you are. Lastly, I want to say thank you for this website, because, you know, you really have helped me out and given me alot of useful information. I check in everyday now. Thank you very much, and keep up the good work.

Wow, I am a new Army wife going through my first deployment, but your post really got me thinking. My husband goes back and forth about being career Army, but truth is he only reconsiders it because of the possibility of children and me bringing up how hard Army life would be with a family. All that being said, I think I would miss the Army lifestyle. I hate deployments and the late nights and the Army coming first...but, there is just something about seeing my hubby in ACU's and driving on post seeing the helicopters flying overhead. You've really given me something to think about. However, I will support my hubby either way.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Stacey, girl you've helped me through 2 deployments so far... you're still facing deployments, just in a different way! You will ALWAYS be an Army wife in my eyes, and you will ALWAYS be someone I know I can turn to when the chips are low or when they're very high and that you will comfort me or rejoice with me.... whatever the situation calls for. You WILL miss the life, I know first hand, but it really does never totally go away. *hugs& & love "V"
